Questions
Questions about the collective
How do I choose a stylist?
Start with what you want. Each stylist's specialty is on their card, and the services page says who does what. Not sure? Call or text the shop, tell us about your hair and we will point you to a chair.
Can I see more than one stylist?
Yes. Every stylist has their own booking page, and you can book with whoever suits the service. Each visit is with one stylist.
Do I need a consultation first?
Color, extensions and corrections start with one, so your stylist sees your hair and its history before anything is mixed. For a cut or a blowout it is optional.
Who sets the prices?
Each stylist does. Prices turn on length, density, technique, time and the stylist's experience, and they show on the stylist's booking page. How pricing works explains it in full.
What if I need to cancel or run late?
Each stylist asks for notice and tells you how much when you book. If you are running late, call the shop and we will let your stylist know.
Do you do a patch test?
Your stylist decides. Color and some other products may need one before your first visit. Tell them at booking if you have reacted to a hair product.
Can I bring a child or a friend?
Children are welcome to sit with an adult, and one companion may wait with each client, because the room is shared. Ask your stylist whether they take a child's cut.
Which languages do you speak?
English, and also Spanish (Fidelia and Belem), Punjabi (Baljit), Korean (Jihoon) and Somali (Ikran). Tell us when you book which you prefer.
How do I look after my hair between visits?
Your stylist tells you what to use at home and when to come back, and writes it down at the end of your visit.
Where do I park?
Metered street parking and downtown garages are a short walk from our door on P Street.
